Tony Jambo

Tony played accordion since he was seven years old. Beginning in the 1950’s and 60’s he established his career as a club entertainer at many Twin Cities clubs. In 1963 he had his own television show The Polka Jamboree on WTCN-TV (now named KARE 11) airing on Sunday nights In the Twin Cities. The show was popular, rating second only to top-rated television program Lassie and Tony’s show lasted for two seasons. Jambor recorded a handful of albums including Polka Jambor-ee for major-label Decca Records. Tony also owned the Bel-Rae Ballroom in Mounds View, Minnesota for 25 years.
