Born in Mankato, Minnesota, Mary Jane’s singing career started as a solo artist entertaining guests at coffee houses and small clubs. She later fronted several Mankato-based bands and sang several years with “Good Time” rock and roll favorites City Mouse. In the early 1980’s Mary Jane formed her own band naming it The Mary Jane Alm Band and quickly began packing clubs from Minneapolis to Duluth and all over the upper Midwest. She performed on many stages throughout the USA, China, Russia, Poland, Mexico, Bermuda, and more. She was the recipient of over a dozen Minnesota Music Awards including the Country Record of The Year for her album Prisoner of the Heart.
