The St. Olaf Choir
Inducted 2013
Founded in 1912, The St. Olaf Choir has been singing for capacity audiences in major venues across America and around the globe. The Choir has shared the finest sacred choral repertoire inspiring people of all faiths, garnering critical acclaim, and setting new standards for choral excellence. The 75-voice choir is the premier choral ensemble of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, rehearsing five days a week while maintaining their academics. F. Melius Christiansen, a 1989 Minnesota Music Hall of Famer, was the founding director. The first of only four conductors, he was succeeded by his son Olaf Christiansen, Kenneth Jennings, and current director Anton Armstrong. To hear the St. Olaf Choir is to experience choral singing of the highest order.
