Mick Sterling

Inducted 2015
Mick Sterling had his first performance in a Golden Valley, Minnesota bar at age four. His take on Roger Miller’s “King of the Road” earned him a few cherry Cokes as he stood on top of the juke box singing along. Sterling’s affinity for Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, and others became the pillars of his performing & songwriting choices as he began his professional career in 1980. After returning to Minneapolis from playing with a band from St. Louis, he married his junior high school sweetheart Kristi. They have two children and live in Crystal, Minnesota. Sterling was asked to join his old band-mates in a project that needed his lead vocals. That band turned out to be Mick Sterling and The Stud Brothers, who for 17 years blew away audiences with a powerful and rocking show. Sterling enjoys performing more than ever as he produces and performs in multiple tribute shows to large audiences in venues all around the Midwest.
