Songwriter Dennis Morgan was born in Tracy, Minnesota, where he started writing music at the age of 12. He hitch-hiked to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 19, and from 1977 to 1983 he wrote some 50 hits for Barbara Mandrell, Ronnie Milsap, Charley Pride, Sylvia, Steve Wariner, Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius. The Little Shop of Morgan Songs and the Morgan Music Group Inc. music publishing operations in 1984, now set up worldwide. Morgan has been named BMI Songwriter of The Year and was a Grammy recipient in 1988. His lengthy list of songwriter awards include 44 BMI Awards, an Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song for “Love Changes Everything” in 1988, a Climie Fisher Award (which is the English equivalent of a Grammy), and a President’s Excellence Award– NSAI in 1990.
