Starting playing professionally in 1956, he had his own radio show and toured with rock and roll bands The Rocketeers and The Fenderbenders. In 1966, Linton moved from Minneapolis to Nashville for a time where he hit the big time with his song \u201cCotton King\u201d, putting him on top of the country charts before returning back to Minnesota.
