For 25 years, he was the director<br \/>\nof the State champion Sleepy Eye Drum and Bugle Corps. Under his direction, the Corps<br \/>\nplaced first in state competition from 1947 to 1959. Pinky arranged and composed music, and designed the choreography for the Corps. The U.S. Army Band in WWII extensively played one of the Schroepfer\u2019s marches, \u201cJubilesta\u201d, which was published in 1941. He has also composed polkas and laendlers for dance bands. The Whoopee<br \/>\nJohn Orchestra recorded several of his tunes.
