Fezz was the son of John Fritsche, who is credited with starting the first commercial polka band in the United States. During the &#8220;Hey Day&#8221; of polka bands, Fezz was the bandleader and clarinetist for The Goosetown Band, organized in 1940. The group toured from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and from Chicago to Montana, averaging a 29-night month for 15 years. Fezz &amp; group recorded for nationally-distributed major-label MGM Records. He was inducted into the International Polka Association Hall of Fame, based in Chicago, in 1984. \u201cTanta Anna\u201d was Fezz Fritsche\u2019s theme song, which brings memories of a man loving and enjoying music and life.
