He was the first Minnesotan to be inducted into the International Polka Hall of Fame, located in Chicago, in 1988. A New Ulm native, Harold &amp; the &#8220;Six Fats&#8221; toured North America from Canada to Texas for decades. During the 1950&#8217;s and 60&#8217;s, his band played more than 300 dates per year, recorded over 700 polkas and waltzes for major labels RCA and Dot Records, and traveled over three million miles.
